Morse’s Oxford II

Morse's Oxford IIBy the banks of the River Thames, known locally as the Isis, sits the Trout Inn. My Morse’s Oxford II brings me to a beautiful setting and one which was featured several times in the Morse detective drama’s of the late 80’s and 90’s.

Beautiful setting indeed, to spend an afternoon or several hours in the evenings, whether summertime or wintertime. Great food and great service but also, you could be sitting in the same place as the great actor the late John Thaw who played Inspector Morse.Morse's Oxford II takes you to The Gate at the Trout Inn Oxford

Morse, the character who loved his English Ales so that he could ‘think’ and puzzle through mysteries he was to solve. Oxford is of course full of ‘minds’ solving mysteries from the tv series to our actual students. All sorts of students who collectively occupy approximately a 1/3 of our City’s population!  Staggering, you must agree.

You too can spend an evening and I can show you how to get there. Less than a 10 mins drive from my B&B. Or if you have no transport it is just 15 mins by local bus, plus a 5 min walk to the bus stop.

If you like walking, especially in the summertime, you can even take a lovely walk there. Half an hour straight to The Trout. However, you could also get waylaid as Port Meadow and Wolvercote Village is also along your path and you could spend hours getting there! These enticements are also lovely parts of Oxford.

Another idea is to have a girlie weekend and book a special table at the Trout. You don’t have to be interested in the Morse character to enjoy a wonderful Alehouse with good food and your best friends. Sit by the river and enjoy times with your friends, chill and relax. Or book a special birthday treat when its your best friends 60th as it is my friends today! Happy Birthday Sarah!

Enjoy Morse’s Oxford II by booking into my B&B and spending a few days finding the alehouse’s frequented by our loveable detective Morse.
